Clinic Opens in Seminole Heights

Healing based on simplicity. Pricing based on reality.

Tampa, FL, 11/9/13 – Seminole Heights Community Acupuncture (SHCA) is opening next week and will begin providing acupuncture at its new location at the corner of N Central and Lambright. Acupuncture is one of the oldest, most common and dependable medical therapies used in the world. It is by nature simple, safe and effective care. It has proven to be not only exceptionally safe when performed by licensed acupuncturists, but statistically effective in an increasing body of scientific studies.

The clinic’s affordable sessions allow patients to come as often as they need to achieve better health and return to their favorite activities. Gurras Khalsa, AP, director and co-owner of the clinic says, “We’re taking acupuncture back to its roots and treat patients in a setting similar to how acupuncture is traditionally done in Asia.”

One of the unique aspects of SHCA is that patients choose what to pay for their treatments from a range of $15-40. Acupuncture works best when it is done frequently for a short period of time as opposed to sporadically over several months. SHCA’s sliding scale fees allow patients to pay what fits their budgets. Also unique to community acupuncture is the use of recliners, clustered in groups in an open, quiet, soothing space. Treating patients in a community setting has many benefits: it is easy for friends and family members to come in for treatment together; many patients find it comforting; and the collective environment established by the group treatments feels like it increases the effectiveness of the treatments. Seminole Heights Community Acupuncture treats many types of pain and stress related conditions. People use acupuncture to reliably and safely decrease pain and inflammation, quiet spasms, boost immunity, dispel migraines, shrink swelling, reduce pain in almost any location, regulate hormones, cut recovery time from surgery, calm anxiety, lift depression, restore mobility, improve digestion, and create a deep feeling of rest. Acupuncture can be particularly helpful for people with chronic diseases – conditions that can be managed, but not cured.

Seminole Heights Community Acupuncture, our staff, and volunteers are members of the People’s Organization of Community Acupuncture. POCA is a co-operative run and fueled by co-op members who believe that acupuncture should be available to people: learn more about that here.

We see acupuncture changing lives every day. It’s simple, safe and effective, as well as the most widely used medicine in the world! Last year POCA clinics, about 150 of them in all, gave more than 1 million treatments.

We support the Community Acupuncture movement with our POCA membership and our volunteer hours.

We know that acupuncture can change the world, and would love for you to join us in The Calmest Revolution Ever Staged!
